I don’t think I go a single day without thinking about money. Whether it’s buying a pint of milk or find a random pound coin in the car, money rules our day to day and there is no getting away from that.
So if our lives are so focused around money, why did nobody teach us how to get it, what to do with it and when to give it away?
If there’s one thing I’ve taken from my teenage years it’s that I have absolutely no idea about money. I’ve been working since I was 14 and I don’t have a single saving – pathetic really!
Of course my parents always encouraged me to save and I’ve saved to buy a car, and buy a nice phone and things, but right now, at the ripe old age of 22, I have no savings and no prospect of saving.
If I could tell me younger self anything I’d tell her to save (and not to buy so many clothes). Honestly the amount of rubbish I have accumulated over the years, I have about ten black dresses that all look almost identical. I was ridiculous.
So here’s the take away from this thought…
1. Sell your clothes
2. Don’t buy anymore clothes
3. Save the money you make
4. Try and do a “no spend week” and blog it
5. Be more bloody consistent on this blog
